What this means in practice: short bursts are quick, long renders are not. Opening a heavy spreadsheet, loading thirty tabs, exporting a few photos — fine. A twenty-minute video export will finish, slowly, at a fraction of the peak clock.
The display is the part of this machine that has aged best. Notebookcheck measured 438 cd/m² peak brightness, 1369:1 contrast, and 97.3% sRGB coverage with a ColorChecker deviation of ΔE 0.8 in the sRGB profile — accurate enough for photo work straight out of the box, without calibration. Battery. Microsoft’s 17- and 18-hour ratings came from its own August 2022 testing at 150 nits with a mixed active-use and modern-standby workload.
